There is a seamless continuum of techniques for genetic modification of crops, animals, and microorganisms that both predates and includes the advent of molecular techniques. With the exception of wild berries, wild game, wild mushrooms, and wild-caught fish and shellfish, all of our foods have been genetically modified by one technique or another.
